ETSO Announces 12th Annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks Celebration July 3

Main Event: “Red, White & Blue – Music from the Heart of America”

Featuring Special Guest Sawyer Fredericks, 8th Season Winner of NBC’s The Voice

COLLEGEDALE, Tenn. (June 22, 2017) — The East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra (ETSO) is proud to present the 12th Annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks Celebration featuring singer/songwriter Sawyer Fredericks, eighth season winner of NBC’s The Voice, Monday, July 3, along the Greenway Path at the Veterans Memorial Park of Collegedale (located near the Collegedale City Hall building and the Collegedale Public Library). This event is powered by EPB Fiber Optics, the “Symphonic Power” sponsor.

This family-friendly event is free to the public. Festivities will begin around 5 p.m., with performances by local and regional artists, followed by a solo performance by Sawyer Fredericks at 7 p.m.

“Sawyer is a true American artist, much in the vein of Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Kevn Kinny and Ray Lamontagne,” says Mathew Miller, executive director of the ETSO. “He is the epitome of an Artist’s artist; his unique voice sets him apart, he delivers a strong, unmistakable folksy vibe that is warm, clean and inviting.

Sawyer Fredericks’ solo is followed by the ETSO’s 8 p.m. main event “Red, White & Blue – Music from the Heart of America,” an Americana-themed performance celebrating “the positive virtues of this great nation as well as all of the freedoms that we cherish as an independent country and free society,” Miller says.

Times are subject to change. Return here for updates, delays and postponements in the event of schedule changes and inclement weather on July 3.
